The history of 7 Day Furniture and Mattress Store starts back on August 7th, 1987 when our original owner Rod Kush started Furniture on Consignment after a successful career in the National Football League with the Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers.
Throughout the 1990's and early 2000's Furniture on Consignment grew and was re-branded as Rod Kush’s Furniture at one point having over 10 locations throughout Nebraska and Iowa. When the economy turned south in the mid 2000's the company had to shrink back down to one location to survive. In October of 2006 Rod Kush's 7 Day Furniture was established at the original 72nd and L St. location.
Starting over the company grew and a Lincoln location was opened on 56th and Hwy 2 in May of 2009. Since that time 7 Day Furniture and Mattress Store has continued to grow and has shown tremendous resiliency in tough economic times by hiring incredibly talented people and making sure that we always have the best products at the best price. In January of 2020 7 Day moved it's Lincoln location to 27th and Fletcher adding more showroom and warehouse space. Also making its location much more accessible for the people of Lincoln and surrounding areas.
Throughout 7 Day's history, Rod’s two sons Randy and Troy have been involved in the business from afar as advisers while both had successful careers of their own. Randy worked in sales and distribution in the Animal Health industry in California for over 8 years while Troy was in Omaha working in sales in the Medical Device industry for 8+ years as well.
Eventually as the business continued to grow Rod asked his two sons to come and be a part of the business as Co – Owners and in 2015, they agreed. Troy came on full time in October of that year and Randy in January of 2016. 7 Day is truly a local, family owned business with 65 employees. We are so happy and blessed to be a part of the greater Omaha and Lincoln communities. Our promise to our customers and our mission is to always provide the best quality service and products at the most affordable prices.
